I am a writer, an author, and a communicator of truth. While I have yet to have any of my work published (though I hope to one day), my greater pursuit is that I might spend my life communicating that which I believe to be most important: truth about life, the gospel, and the church.
My father was an artist, and I used to love visiting his studio. I once heard him say, “If I spent half as much time painting as I do getting ‘ready’ to paint I might actually get some painting done.” Those words resonate in my heart as I find it easier to “prepare to write” than actually writing. I am thinking that there is not much chance of ever getting published if you don’t write.
“You can’t call yourself a writer unless you write. Because writers write.” Tim Challies
Tim Challies, who is such a prolific writer that at times I have wondered if he is even human, created a short video: Quick Tips For Aspiring Bloggers. It was a great reminder that there comes a time when, if you want to be a writer, you need to “just write.”
With that said, what can my readers expect? At least two posts per week (barring a national disaster that prohibits it), which will include a Monday Musings & Miscellany and a weekly post in one of the six categories I have created. Here is a sampling of past posts in each of these categories: Devotional Mediations – Hiding Things From God?; Narrow Thoughts – What’s So Bad About Being Narrow Minded?; Observations – How Do You Define Greatness?; Recommended Resources – Monday Musings & Miscellany; The Scriptures – Taking the Lead in Creativity; and Travel Journal – An Emotional Trip Down Memory Lane.
So there you have it, ‘Narrow Thoughts: Reflections on Life, The Gospel and The Church’.
I hope you’ll subscribe, read, and find encouragement. Most of all, I hope you comment. I would love to hear from you!
